Dear Prospective Apprentices,

Thank you for visiting our website and taking a moment to look at all the exciting programming Princeton Rep has to offer. For more information about the 2007/2008 RAP Program, contact us at PRCRepRap@aol.com or call 609-921-3682

RAP is a unique program in that it not only offers classes to our students taught by theatre professionals, but also involves them directly in professional, Actors’ Equity productions.

The program immerses apprentices in the world of professional theatre by giving them the opportunity to work hands-on during Princeton Rep’s 2007/2008 season. Apprentices work alongside the directors, actors, producers and designers we hire.

The mission of Princeton Rep is to provide affordable, accessible, high-quality theatre to all who seek it, regardless of ability to pay.

This program is also available to students nationwide. (Sorry, no housing is not provided.)

In order to provide this extremely important training, we need the help of people like you. We believe that education should embrace arts programming like RAP.

RAP provides the imaginative landscape and hands-on experience that will transform the learning environment for these students. By participating in this program, they will have a competitive edge in an increasingly demanding academic environment. These students will also build their resumes while making the professional connections needed to succeed in the theatre industry.

Please make a donation to RAP today. For more information, contact us at PRCRepRap@aol.com or call 609-92-3682.

Sincerely,

Victoria Liberatori, Producing Artistic Director/RAP

APPRENTICES will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with theater professionals on professional productions
  • Take acting, movement, and voice classes with Master Teachers
  • Audition for main stage productions
  • Work back stage and front of house
  • Make new friends and professional contacts
and much more!

The most significant stepping stone into a successful theater career can be an internship or apprenticeship, which offers on-the-job training opportunities. This comprehensive program is designed to give emerging theater artists a unique set of experiences that will jump start careers in theater.

The Apprentice Program is a pre-professional conservatory where students will learn how theater artists work as a team under the mentorship of professional actors, directors, designer, managers and administrators. We have assembled a distinguished group of regionally or nationally known teaching specialists.

The RAP program's three main objectives:

  1. To provide access to Shakespeare's language by exploring techniques which unlock the text and
enhance performance through the integration of voice, movement, and acting.
  2. To provide individualized training that will afford the opportunity to work side-by-side with experienced professionals in all areas of the theater.
  3. To provide stage time for students. The summer program offers audition and performance opportunities and will conclude with a scene night for an invited audience.
Since 1995, Princeton Rep has produced the free outdoor Shakespeare Festival annually in Princeton. Spend the summer with Princeton Rep and join dedicated students from across the country in the Rep Apprentice Program (RAP)

Classes are held at various locations in Princeton TBA. For further information or to discuss class offerings, please call 609-921-3682.
